1935 Derby Bentley

This car was delivered to us with 16 boxes of parts. The body, panel and trim had been completed elsewhere and the owner wanted the mechanicals checked and the car assembled. After two days of sorting and identifying parts and looking at numerous photos the task started. Lucky I was good at jigsaw puzzles as a kid!

After removing the sludge trap and finding so much sludge the sump was removed for further inspection of the engine

One very second hand camshaft

Rust on the inside of an engine is never good!

Here is what happens when a cast iron engine is stored dry without treating the cooling system.

Some of the worn engine components

With the engine away for repair we decided to take a good look at the diff.

And then the steering, suspension and brakes.

Checking panel fit before paint

With the car having auto electrical work completed it is now time for fitting the engine components ready for start up.

After many hours of work the car moved under its own power!

Finished!
